McNAUGHTON ACCLAIMED PC CANDIDATE
IN LAMBTON-KENT-MIDDLESEX
Glencoe, Ontario
– In front of a large crowd of cheering supporters, former three-term Newbury
Town Councillor and 2007 PC Candidate of Record, Monte McNaughton was acclaimed
as the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex candidate to represent the Ontario PC Party
in the provincial election scheduled for October 2011. McNaughton is the
first PC Candidate to be confirmed in Ontario.
In his acceptance speech
McNaughton stated that, “As a small business owner, as someone who has
been a town councillor for nine years, and as someone who has served as
a volunteer on two of our hospital foundations, I know the value of service,
dedication and hard work.”
McNaughton was nominated
by former Member of Provincial Parliament Marcel Beaubien, and his nomination
was seconded by former MP Bill Frank. An audience of over 250 gave its
enthusiastic approval to the selection of the new candidate.
Guest speaker Bob Bailey,
M.P.P. (Sarnia-Lambton) welcomed McNaughton’s nomination as a great step
for the PC Party on its road to defeating the McGuinty government in 2011,
“Monte has proven himself to be a capable and hard-working candidate. I
look forward to sitting with him at Queen’s Park next year – but on the
government side of the House.”
In concluding the meeting,
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex PC Association President John Fraser said, “Make
no mistake about it, we intend to win this riding back and we are going
to do that by working as hard as we can over the next 19 months to inform
the public and win one vote at a time.”
