McNAUGHTON ACCLAIMED PC CANDIDATE IN LAMBTON-KENT-MIDDLESEX

Glencoe, Ontario – In front of a large crowd of cheering supporters, former three-term Newbury Town Councillor and 2007 PC Candidate of Record, Monte McNaughton was acclaimed as the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex candidate to represent the Ontario PC Party in the provincial election scheduled for October 2011. McNaughton is the first PC Candidate to be confirmed in Ontario.

In his acceptance speech McNaughton stated that, “As a small business owner, as someone who has been a town councillor for nine years, and as someone who has served as a volunteer on two of our hospital foundations, I know the value of service, dedication and hard work.”

McNaughton was nominated by former Member of Provincial Parliament Marcel Beaubien, and his nomination was seconded by former MP Bill Frank. An audience of over 250 gave its enthusiastic approval to the selection of the new candidate.

Guest speaker Bob Bailey, M.P.P. (Sarnia-Lambton) welcomed McNaughton’s nomination as a great step for the PC Party on its road to defeating the McGuinty government in 2011, “Monte has proven himself to be a capable and hard-working candidate. I look forward to sitting with him at Queen’s Park next year – but on the government side of the House.”

In concluding the meeting, Lambton-Kent-Middlesex PC Association President John Fraser said, “Make no mistake about it, we intend to win this riding back and we are going to do that by working as hard as we can over the next 19 months to inform the public and win one vote at a time.”
